world-renowned leader in the maintenance, reliability, and asset management field. He holds a BSME, an MSIE, and an executive MBA.

His professional certifications include PE, CRL, CRE, CAMA, CMRP,and CMRT.

Ramesh has worked for more than 50 years in the field and has held many positions including maintenance engineer, reliability engineer/analyst, process improvement manager, industrial engineering manager, project manager, reliability manager, and chief engineer–reliability.

He has worked at

• Jacobs-ATA/ Sverdrup Technology Inc.;
• Arnold Engineering Development Complex,Tennessee;
• Carrier Air Conditioning; True Temper Corporation;
• Bethlehem Steel; and HEC-Foundry Forge plant.

Ramesh is an active member of AMP, ASQ/Reliability, IISE, IAM, SMRP, and UT/RMC. He is a member of ISO/ANSI-US TAG–pc251 (ISO 55000) and TAG 56 (sustainability).

He has been actively involved with the SMRP since the mid-90s and has held many positions including conference chair, director of best practices, director of certification, and exam committee chair. He is a founding member of the International Maintenance Conference.

Ramesh is a 2020 inductee of the prestigious Arnold Community Countil AEDC Lifetime Achievement Fellow Award, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Reliability Conference, Seattle, May 2019. He was named veteran 2014 CMRP of the Year by the Society of the Maintenance and Reliability Professionals.

He is the author of several books, including the award-winning Maintenance & Reliability Best Practices, 10 Rights of Asset Management, and Uptime Elements DICTIONARY for Reliability Leaders & Asset Managers. In addition, he has written numerous papers in the area of maintenance and reliability, asset management, productivity improvements, application of standards, and workforce development.

Ramesh regularly teaches at several universities, including Mississippi State, University of Tennessee, and University of Wisconsin.
